Joseph MachadoFor as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher.  Being a leader and facilitator came naturally and impassioned me to pursue that dream.

I officially began living my dream by teaching middle school students in the public school system.  It was during this time that I discovered yoga and used the practice to find serenity within the stress, challenges, and demands of the 21st century academic environment.

Yoga quickly uncovered layers of my spiritual self that translated to positive changes in body, mind, and soul.  I fell in love with yoga’s ability to soothe and calm me into a state of bliss yet empower me through feelings of being centered and grounded.

Its impact being profound, I deepened my teaching repertoire by becoming a certified yoga instructor and by sharing the practice with my students to empower them with the ability to calm their own bodies and minds, find increased focus for their studies, and reveal increased compassion for themselves and others.

After nearly a decade of schooling our youth, I was inspired to focus my teaching efforts on expanding the minds of my fellow educators by providing them with the skills to adapt their instruction to the needs of today’s classroom and ensure their students’ success.

This path outside of the classroom led me to Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms practice where expressive movement uncovered even more layers of my spiritual self, leading me back to the authentic self within; one that is open, intuitive, and wildly passionate about life and all its experiences…especially teaching!

As is the beauty of this life, following my dream has taken me on a journey of personal discovery and transformation that has affirmed and enriched both my life and my passion for being a facilitator for others on their own journeys.

I believe movement synchronizes body and mind creating a bridge to our own inner wisdom, self-healing, and joy.  I believe my life path is to serve individuals in empowering themselves by helping them discover these gifts and tools that are within.

Today, I blend my studies of somatic psychology, yoga, expressive movement, energy work, and creative arts as a Body-Mind Educator within both the community setting of youth and adult workshops as well as personalized one-on-one sessions.

We must learn to move with the tides and challenges of our ever-changing lives before we can move through them and beyond.  I invite you to discover how to move with life and reveal the joy and wisdom within!

Blessings,

Joseph
