therapy in motion

Every aspect of our psychology - emotional, social, familial, historical, relational - is experienced through our bodies. Emotions, concepts, imagination, memory and intentions make themselves known to us and others by way of an intricately sensitive and finely tuned web of sensate experience, changing hormonal compositions and neurological pathways.

Psychology is movement

When we are overwhelmed or dis-regulated emotionally, we are likely to feel ungrounded, off center or out of touch with our physical presence inside our body.  When we are stuck in emotional states (i.e. sadness, frustration, anxiety, ecstasy) and repetitive patterns of behavior our movements can appear frozen, stiff, or porous.

Verbal narratives, relational dynamics and body language are all telling a valuable aspect of the same story. Through conscious embodiment, both client and therapist become multilingual.

You will learn:

  • to find the possible meanings and significance of non-verbal experience and communication.
  • specific tools to facilitate inner movements to become conscious and integrated into full congruent expression.
  • to recognize the different emotional states that naturally occur in your physical body as cycles of activation and settling, pulsations, impulse and other micro-movements.
